A Compelling Future

DECIDE and ACT and your future will CHANGE!

Do you know what you want and why you want it? Certainty about your desires makes your journey more enjoyable and your progress faster. Can you describe the future you desire in such detail that another person could paint a picture of your future.

Step 1: What do you want?

Have you stopped to ask yourself, “What do I really want?”   Are you excited about tomorrow?  What do you want to experience?  Describe the desired outcome or result in detail and set a date to achieve it.  How will you feel when you achieve this result?

Step 2: Why do you want it?

What is in it for you? Do the results you seek inspire you to do things you have never done before? Try things you have never tried before? Give yourself the passion and desire to overcome fears that would have stopped you in the past?

Step 3: How are you going to get there?

There are hundreds of things you can do in any moment to work towards your hearts desire. There is power in writing all of the options or possibilities down.  Get everything out of your head and down on paper.

How do you choose what to do first? Try this!

Apply the Pareto Principle and identify the 20% of the “to do” items that will give you 80% of your results.  Read your list out loud.  Circle the items that will move you towards your goal the fastest.

Now, prioritize the short list.  Pick the top 3 and get ‘er done.

What if I get stuck?

Brene Brown published a book called the The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who you Think You’re Supposed to Be and embrace Who You Are.

I listened to her book and found it very liberating in that it helped me to be more accepting and even appreciative of my imperfections. Self acceptance (self-love) is a powerful moving-forward tool.  Fear can stop you dead in your tracks or it can be the jet fuel to propel you to a life beyond your dreams.

“The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything.” – Theodore Roosevelt,

If you wrote down all the ideas in your head at step 3, you have just begun.  You have an extensive list (right?).   No matter what comes up, know that you can handle it.  Do not worry about setbacks or fumbles; pick up the ball and keep on going.

Our plans work until they don’t. This is where Mother Teresa’s quote fits in. “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.”

If you want help, please book an appointment so we can work together to get you living the life of your dreams.
